Wellness Services
We’re pleased to offer a wide range of comprehensive services at Sam Bass Veterinary Wellness. Our appointment book is computerized, which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.
Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Because a large number of veterinarians practice at Sam Bass Veterinary Wellness, we can care for many types of pets:
- Dogs
- Cats
Wellness
The best investment you can make in your pet’s health and happiness is regular wellness examinations. These physical exams allow us to chart a baseline in biometrics and behavior for your pet, so that we can quickly see when something goes amiss. We will perform a full examination and will closely look at each of your pet’s major biological systems. If we do catch a problem, it is important to be able to catch it quickly, when treatment is simpler and more effective.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations are important. Vaccinations, such as rabies, are required annually by Texas state law, as rabies is a public health risk and 100 percent fatal if contracted. We realize that not all pets are at high risk for many of the other commonly vaccinated disease. Therefore at SBVW, we will discuss you and your pet’s environment, risk factors for potential exposure, and tailor a vaccination plan to your pet’s needs. After your puppy or kitten’s initial boosters, long term needs and requirements for prevention and exposure may indicate no need for further chemical injections into the body.
Emergency & Urgent Care
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty six days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet’s life. Emergencies can be things such as accidental ingestion of rat poison, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarians will work in an urgent care appointment. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
